I still dislike my 1-car-wide driveway. And most people.

Kinja'd!!!

This Sienna pulled unnecessarily close to my driveway. They are not a resident on this street and I have no idea where the driver is. I assume visiting the nearby apartment complex. They are also parked barely past our mailboxes, which means if my mailman had a bad night, he will not deliver our mail out of spite.

You can’t tell, but the actually entry into the driveway is ~2 feet narrower than what you usually see from my photos:

Kinja'd!!!

Tons and tons of other parking - at the building and down the street. But parked close to my entry instead for some reason. Backing in is a bitch without any cars around to begin with.

My wife always rolls her eyes because if we visit someone in a residential area, I’ll look for some place to park that will be the least of inconvenience to locals. I even call people and ask where they want me to park, and get perplexed responses. “Uh, wherever.”

Anyway this Sienna irks me. And then I get upset that I let little crap like this even register at all. I assure you: I have actual life problems like the rest of you (but I post chandeliers). But neighbors, parking, property... those things push mah buttons.

My next house will have a driveway wider than the grand canyon.

I wholeheartedly agree. This is the automotive equivalent of using the urinal right next to the next man when the entire bathroom is empty.

It looks like it’s parked on the sidewalk....

I’ve been known to yell at people who park with their tires on my lawn.

I actually wouldn’t mind moving away from the city for some acreage & shop. Once our debt is paid off I’ll be looking, 3-5 years. I also dislike people.

At least you’ve got a driveway? I have to do my wrenching in the street or in some vacant parking lot across town.

Though, in a fit of lackadaisical daydreaming, I came across this house on zillow which not only has a giant yard:

Get a load of this flipping garage:

Kinja'd!!!

I couldn’t even imagine how nice it would be to have a 4-car workspace with a lift. What a dream.

BRB, changing my pants.

Buy a couple orange cones, put them in the street so people can’t park in front of your mailbox but the mailman can access it.

One of my neighbors friends parked on my front lawn. Moved it when I asked. I still don’t understand why he thought it was remotely a good place to park. There’s a privacy fence running down the property line so it’s pretty clear it’s not my neighbors yard.

I feel ya. We widened our driveway from 10 to 13 feet last summer. It’s still not enough. It is hell enough trying to back a 27’ trailer up the driveway; nearly impassable when people are parked all manner of right in front.

The inside is quite nice too. It’s clean and bright with hardwood floors throughout.

Something something money. )=

Is the garage separate? Looks huge for the size of the house

I love it. Not that big but the whole inside looks so open and clean. The garage would be the true selling point though.

We have some neighbors that would park in front of our garbage cans on garbage day so they wouldn’t pick it up... had to have a little chat with them. “oh I didn’t realize”, yeah, BS, whatever, just don’t do it anymore.

I wish I could share some of my space with you. I’m at a dead end with a cul-de-sac, in addition to my long dirt driveway that’s 20 feet wide and could probably, conservatively, park 20 cars here before anyone would be mildly inconvenienced.

I’ll have a beer with you though....

My entire block is duplexes and apartment buildings. It seems like every one of them has more licensed drivers and cars in them than available parking, so at night the street is full. My neighbor, who I share a driveway with, parks in the street at the end of our driveway on his side. My neighbor two doors over has an old Volvo parked in front of my house that hasn’t moved in over six months. The city won’t let me do anything about either situation, I’ve asked...

Sounds like you need a fake fire hydrant to put out front to dissuade street parking.

The neighbor who parks in front of your driveway can be solved with large roofing nails wedged at a 45 degree angle between the tire tread and the pavement.

The Volvo issue can be solved with a call to a towing company.

My property just opens to the alley and has no actual driveway for the garage, so my driveway is the width of my property.

Kinja'd!!!

I also park wherever I want because I don’t care about my yard.

The neighbor is on his side of our shared driveway, and that would be vandalism.

Per the city I can’t call a tow company on the volvo until they tag it as abandoned, which they haven’t done yet. Since it’s on a city street there’s nothing they’ll do about it.

They did finally tag an abandoned car on the other side of the block that’s been there for about a year without moving...

I didn’t say it would be good solutions or even legal. But it would solve the issue.
